This fantastic group of performers bring pure talent to every show.

Judson Brown

Guitar

Piano

Fiddle

Vocals

Judson has been playing and singing music for about as long as he can remember. After several years of piano lessons, he taught himself to play guitar in his teens by attempting to shred along with Ozzy Osbourne recordings. While attending Columbia College Chicago, his friends dragged him into the world of jazz where he developed an ear for harmony and an appreciation for music theory. The lack of opportunities in the jazz world, which had been steadily shrinking since the 1940s, prompted Judson to seek a different musical path. He was introduced to country through the music of Brad Paisley, which provoked the realization that music could be both technically advanced AND popular. He hasn’t looked back since. After graduation, he spent four years playing lead guitar for Southern Exposure before joining Bella Cain. Outside of Bella Cain, Judson remains active as an acoustic performer both as a solo act and with the Judson Brown Band Trio.

Patrick Murphy

Acoustic Guitar

Vocals

Patrick has been with the band since 2015, but has been singing since high school. In high school, Patrick was in musicals, which is what got him into music. Two of his most memorable roles were Gaston in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and Joseph in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. He loves performing and being on stage, so come out and hang out with him!

Fred Krubel

Guitar

Banjo

Steel

Vocals

Fred was exposed to the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters at a young age and frequently wailed on air guitar, especially after hearing the chugging riffs of Metallica on MTV as a teenager. At the age of 14, Fred had found his favorite thing to do and rounded up others to jam with. Even from the start, Fred has always had an intensity that translates to quality music and good vibes. After playing in high school groups, writing, recording, and personal study, Fred attended Columbia College Chicago (he followed Judson!) for his Bachelor of Arts. He studied jazz with Bill Boris, Peter Saxe and the late, great Frank Dawson.

When Fred’s not pickin’ and grinnin’ with Bella Cain, he records and melts faces with his jazz fusion projects: General Zod, Tresmos, and Stereo Genius, which include some of the finest players in Chicago. Fred also enjoys teaching the next generation of little shredders.

Jackie Bucher

Fiddle

Vocals

Jackie began singing at the age of 5, taking voice lessons in church and performing in musicals, pageants and talent competitions throughout her childhood. At age 8, Jackie began playing the violin. Under the guidance of Stan Ackerman, Jackie excelled in her skills as a classically trained violinist, performing in various orchestras and ensembles. Jackie’s natural musical ability continued through high school where she “unveiled” her strong vocal style, to the surprise of friends and family, as the lead in her high school musical. She has been “sangin’” ever since!! Jackie grew up listening to female powerhouse vocalists like Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood but her musical repertoire spans across all genres. As her musical adventures grew, Jackie became a member of various country bands in SE Illinois and Wisconsin, growing her skills, modeling her vocals after those great women of country music, lending harmonies to the group, and playing the fiddle. Jackie is an original member of Bella Cain, joining the band as the female lead singer/fiddle player, back in 2010. After taking some time off to spend with her family, including two daughters, she could not deny her love and passion for the stage. Returning in 2018, Jackie is back and more excited than ever to continue this journey alongside the most talented musicians around! In her other life, Jackie has also accomplished 15 years of experience in elementary education as a dedicated teacher, district administrator, Professional Development trainer and Assistant Principal. This experience has helped her to be able to handle the Bella Cain boys- LOL! See ya’ll at the show!

Sara Marie

Bass

Vocals

Sara grew up listening to the funky Motown grooves of James Jamerson and Bob Babbitt, as Motown and oldies hits were always a staple in her childhood home.  Classic 80s-90s country was also constantly on the radio, which really sparked her love for that genre early on. In addition to Jamerson, Sara considers Matt Freeman, John Entwistle, Victor Wooten, and Verdine White to be among her many influences. Sara first picked up the bass in 2010 at age 24. She studied under Dave Wilbur in Orem, Utah for several years before moving back to home state of Wisconsin. Over the years, she has shared the stage with several national acts – most recently with Scotty McCreery and Parker McCollum. An accomplishment she’s proud of is putting out a 4 song EP with Blue Light Scene. She enjoyed being a part of the creative process and getting the experience of writing and recording original songs.

Prior to joining the Bella Cain family in early 2022, Sara gained experience across various genres by being a member of Eyes Up Here (all female band!), Paid in Full (class rock cover band), Blue Light Scene (rock/country), Chasin Mason (country), Brecken Miles Band (country), and 76 Juliet (top 40/dance). In her spare time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering for her church’s worship team, and camping or simply being outdoors. She’s looking forward to being surrounded by an extremely talented group of people and to continue learning and growing as a musician.

Rob Harvey

Band Leader

Drums

Vocals

Rob began playing the drums at a very early age. With the support of his parents Ken & Cindy, he was soon enrolled in weekly drums lessons lasting nearly 15 years, learning every type and style of music available under the instruction of drumming “Great” Joe Varhula. He was involved in music while in school, was selected to perform in the State of Illinois’s “All-State Band” and was a 7-time winner at the State of Illinois’s Solo/Ensemble Competition. At 17, Rob began playing professionally in bars, clubs and honky tonks throughout IL/WI, and his senior year of high school was awarded a music scholarship. While playing with various local bands and having the love of every type of music ranging from Rock and Blues to Hip-Hop and R&B, Rob had the opportunity to join a local country band (Exit South) and that’s where his love for country music began. Shortly after leaving that group, Rob decided to start his own band (The Bottom Line) which soon became a local favorite and WAMI winner for “Country Band of the Year” and “New Group of the Year”. After great success, Rob decided to move on and pursue music at a higher level and in 2003 started a new group named “Chasin Mason”. With a new band at his fingertips, he led them to greatness in Southeast Wisconsin/Northern Illinois and had many great opportunities.

Rob has had the opportunity to share the stage with, open for, and even perform with such greats as Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Brooks and Dunn, Tanya Tucker, Terri Clark, Martina McBride, Billy Dean, and many more. He was nominated “Drummer of the Year” by the WAMI organization, has recorded in Nashville, sat behind the drums on the Grand Ole Opry, and performed for thousands at such events as Summerfest, Country Thunder, Country USA, WI State Fair, Taste of Chicago, and the Chicago Country Music Fest. Rob has been interviewed and performed on FOX several times and has had the pleasure of working alongside FM106.1 out of Milwaukee and Chicago’s own US-99! In April of 2010, Rob decided to once again shock the “Regional” Country Music Scene by building and leading his greatest group yet. He has assembled who he believes to be the best musicians in the area in the effort to build a young, high-energy, driving, rocking, and non-stop country band you’ve all come to know as…Bella Cain!

Kevin Klemme

Trumpet

Vocals

Kevin grew up in Ashwaubenon, WI where he started playing trumpet in 6th grade. He actually wanted to play trombone, but the music store ran out….so trumpet it was! He played throughout middle school and high school playing in concert bands, marching band, and in his junior year was introduced to jazz and improvisation. He played lead trumpet in their top high school jazz band, played in the jazz combo, and won several awards for outstanding soloist at jazz competitions across the Midwest.

This carried into his college career where he attended UW-LaCrosse. During his short 14 year career there, he also played in concert bands, marching band, jazz combos, and was placed into their top jazz band as a freshman; eventually taking over the lead trumpet role. During summer breaks he played dixie and jazz at Six Flags Great America. Also in college, Kevin got his first taste of professional experience playing jazz in the local music scene and helped originate the 10-piece horn band 3 Beers ‘til Dubuque. That band exploded and was headlining music festivals and playing across the Midwest within 2 years. He left La Crosse for a couple of years and moved to Madison where he joined the horn powerhouse Phat Phunktion and toured extensively across the US. Upon his return to LaCrosse, he joined Shoeless Revolution, played lots of hippy fests, and went back to school.

Once Kevin graduated college with degrees in Music and German, he moved to Milwaukee and faced an entirely different music scene while working in music publishing. He helped start a Dixieland band called the Polyester Playboys; which turned into The Extra Crispy Brass Band, and played a two year stint with Herman Astro. Milwaukee based blues band Tweed Funk called a few years later, and Kevin ended up playing blues fests and clubs all around the Midwest and US and had monthly appearances at the House of Blues in Chicago. After 5 years in the blues scene, it was time to play regular music again. He teamed up with Mike Clobes and helped start The Hot and Dirty Brass Band while picking up regular shows with The Cheap Shots. Most recently, Kevin has been playing with Bella Cain since 2018 while filling any open nights with The Hot and Dirty and ditched the label of “Band Whore.”

Kevin has been nominated and won several WAMI “Band of the Year” awards and even won the prestigious “Horn Player of the Year” award in 2014. He’s played across the Midwest, United States, and even Internationally. He’s opened up for and played with such acts as Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy, Styx, The Violent Femmes, Slaughter, REO Speedwagon, The Roots, Bad Company, The Flaming Lips, and many more. To this day, he still regrets settling for the stupid trumpet.

Mike Clobes

Trombone

Vocals

Mike joined the band in 2018. He has always been into music, and started learning how to play the piano in 2nd grade. In 4th grade he started to play the violin, and then in 5th grade he started playing trombone and guitar. From there, he picked up more and more instuments!

Mike has his Bachelor’s Degree in Trombone Performance from UW-Whitewater. He is also adopted from Santiago, Chile!
